Shane was born and raised in Southern California, where he was very active, learning how to play the typical sports; football, basketball, and baseball at a young age, as well as other activities such as dirt bike riding, water skiing/wakeboarding, and snowboarding. This active lifestyle continued throughout high school, college, and remains today.
With this active lifestyle, injuries are sustained from time to time. During his senior year in high school he experienced a hard fall on his back that would heal relatively quickly, but resurface months later during track season in a much greater fashion. He could barely walk, let alone run or compete in sports. This injury landed him in a chiropractic office for the first time.
As his sports career came to an end in college, he began to develop a love for strength and conditioning. As this passion began to grow, he thought back to that chiropractic visit years ago and began to consider this profession as a way to stay connected to his athletic lifestyle and background, as well as help others dealing with pain.
Once Shane began chiropractic college, he had no idea what he was really in store for. He had an idea of what chiropractic care was, based on his past experiences in different chiropractic offices. These visits were short and sweet, consisting of a short introduction, a few chiropractic adjustments, and maybe some electrical stimulation. While in chiropractic college he was introduced to the sports medicine side of chiropractic and his eyes were really opened to what chiropractic could be. He found a new passion for connecting with patients and really understanding their history and story, as well as discovering new techniques for hands-on manual therapy, and, finally, but maybe most importantly, discovering the rehabilitation exercise side of chiropractic that he did not realize was a part of chiropractic care. With this new found knowledge he aims to combine all of these techniques; good history taking skills, manual therapy, exercise, and standard chiropractic manipulations, to provide lasting solutions for his patients.
Outside of chiropractic, Shane loves to stay active. He continues to weight train consistently, ride dirt bikes and jet skis, wakeboard, and snowboard. He enjoys spending the winter camping in the desert, and the summer boating on the Colorado River in Arizona. Lastly, he has developed a new love for dirt track racing, many nights he can be found at the track helping friends with cars or simply being a spectator.
